I'm currently creating a Storyboard for the Zeus & Leda animation and am reminded of how much I hate storyboarding. The process is just tedious, because I'm not patient enough to create well processed shots. I just quickly scribble my way through it, resulting in crappy rough drawings that communicate just enough for me. Basically the quality is comparable to what would happen if I was drunk and scribbled something on the back of a beermat (?) (bierviltje).
I like details and I like carefully planning drawings out but that comes later in the process. Now it's all about working out the story, not so much the layout. Traditionally though, it's logical that you also carefully plan the layout, character poses in your storyboard, but I like to work a bit rougher now and work out the precisions later.
The positive side of it all is that once I have finished the Storyboard, I can start doing what I love, which is creating character designs, creating backgrounds and finally animating the thing.
So now it's heads up high, drinking unhealthy doses of cafeine and rush through it.
